International zSeries Oracle SIG Charter
Since its inception in 1988, the International zSeries Oracle SIG has been an independent, volunteer run association providing Information Technology professionals with user focused Education, Professional Networking and Industry Influence regarding the use of Oracle software products on zSeries hardware and operating systems (z/OS and Linux on zSeries)
Our Mission
To enable Information Technology Professionals to achieve their organization’s business goals through the successful application of Oracle software products on zSeries hardware and operating systems, and to share their experiences and best practices - so others can learn from their successes and failures. We provide a focal point and
voice to Oracle and IBM for their zSeries customers.
Our Vision
We will be an indispensable partner with our members, Oracle and IBM, in shaping the future of Oracle infrastructure software for the zSeries platform.
By doing so, we hope to ensure IBM and Oracle provide the support required to enable Oracle Infrastructure products and End User applications developed by customers in-house or purchased from others.
We will be complementary to Oracle Application users groups and work in conjunction with them as appropriate. Through activities of the SIG, we will promote the growth of the user base.
Membership
Membership is open to all Information Technology Professionals actively using Oracle software on the zSeries platform and those exploring the possibility of doing so.
Membership and communications is open to SIG approved Software development companies which provide complementary products which extend or enhance the Oracle / IBM environment.
Meetings
The International zSeries Oracle SIG holds an annual conference, usually in March or April.
We will offer “Birds of a Feather” sessions at the Annual Oracle World and IBM Share conferences. Periodic calls will be held on topics of interest to the membership for sharing experiences and communications to and from Oracle and IBM on priorities and requirements.

The SIG is managed by a group of volunteer members plus representatives from Oracle and IBM.

The executive committee holds meetings via conference call as necessary to deal with organizational issues and to plan the annual conference and other events/activities.
Membership in the executive committee will change as required. Overlap in leadership is desired to ensure continuity. Changes in executive membership will be determined by the current members active on the executive committee.

Privacy is of great concern to the zSeries Oracle SIG and we are sensitive to the privacy concerns of our members and other visitors to our Web site. zSeries Oracle SIG does not collect personal information from you unless you provide it to us in the form of registration information. zSeries Oracle SIG does maintain a mailing list from this information and will from time to time send information about our organization and news about our industry in the form of a newsletter. You may be removed from this mailing list by contacting us at contact@zseriesoraclesig.org. zSeries Oracle SIG does not sell your registration information to vendors.
